More shocking service at Woolworths
Canal Walk Century City - Milnerton Cape Town
Maybe this is just my bad luck, but four consecutive poor service experiences at Woolworths is more than shocking - it is a realisation for me that the good old days of good service at Woolworths is something of the past.
Today in an attempt not to visit Woolworths Paddocks Food store I tried Woolworths Canal Walk Century City. And guess? Yes - as poor as the service delivery received at Woolworths Paddocks on 14 August 2010.
I went in to settle my account - with cash, but at the 'Financial Services' the only staff member there could not assist me - " no float'. So I went to thePay Points. No cashiers available in the one half of the complete top or bottom clothing section - absolutely nobody. And on the other side a queue of people (with all cashiers at least present).
I eventually found a 'manager' busy installing a TV somewhere else in the store. Unbelievable. When asked to speak to the manager he's response was 'you can speak to me". So he took me to another CLOSED cashier section and after MANY minutes someone arrives to assist.
During my transaction he disappeared and I went looking for him - nowhere with more people queuing at the available Pay Point. After my unsuccessful attempt to find the manager I left the store.
Today I am more than convinced of the diminishing service levels at Woolworths. First I thought it was Paddocks-specific, but today I am certain that this a poor service culture is a broader and direct result of poor Woolworths regional and retail management standards.
I am ashamed to call myself a Woolworths client - more than ashamed and without any doubt will look elsewhere for an improved retail / shopping experience.
