Déjà vu greeted me once again at CLICKS in Centrepoint Milnerton yesterday afternoon. Not enough cashiers with quite a few CLICKS staff members marg time at the side-counter occupied with the now familiar 'stock-taking' activities. Only after requesting service did a couple of CLICKS staff members appear from elsewhere to deliver their core job function. And all of this while the manager was standing with her back to the main point of sale area.

My perception of CLICKS management in action
I am of opinion this CLICKS store is poorly managed from both a local and regional management perspective. This is evident from the same poor service delivery standards experienced on numerous occasions visiting CLICKS Milnerton. What a shame - to work at a big-brand South African retailer and there is no real motivation to deliver on one of the most important retail fundamentals - client service.

On so many occasions during the last 2 years have I experienced less than 50% of the point of sales staff at their work stations. Only after requesting service from the store management did the service delivery arrived.

On a precious occasion (about two months ago) I actually left my pre-sales items on the side counter of CLICKS Milnerton and left the store.

Service questions - for CLICKS regional management perhaps?

• Why is customers in this store without exception [or hesitation] directed to the side-counter?
• Why is there always more staff doing stock-take than actually servicing customers?
• Why is there so many staff in such a relatively small store?
• Why is the manager not facing customers when she is in the same point of sale space?

I post this as a very disappointed CLICKS customer - this is not just about my experience, but for the many Milnerton customers that must bear the brunt of amateur retail management inefficiency (as witnessed at CLICKS Milnerton).
