Suspicious parking pay-point facility - Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel Cape Town
As a frequent visitor to the Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel Cape Town I have had only but experienced appalling malfunction / mismanagement of the on-site parking payment / pay point kiosk. An unacceptable level of service for such a highly rated and accredited establishment.
How is it possible that after visiting the Southern Sun Waterfront Cape Town hotel for more than three months that they still do not have their guest parking / pay-point system sorted out?
From first arrival the system was malfunctioning, wasting my time to get a parking ticket signed for exiting the hotel's parking facility. And this happened frequently, if not every time over my the total visitation period.
Returning after a month of absence I was once again confronted with a faulty system on Monday morning 18 July 2011 (provided a brand new R20 note for a R10 charge – change was zero). Waited 5 minutes to get this sorted out and then it happened again on my next visit which was this morning 20 July 2011 (provided a R20 note for a R15 charge= change to me zero)
As a matter of principle I returned to the Front Desk on both occasions this week. Not so much for R10-00 short change, but the unthinkable of ongoing operational inefficiency at this otherwise fine establishment.
Many of my own stakeholders brought it to my attention that it may be the way that this hotel deliberately operate its parking facility / income. I would not necessarily want to agree with this assessment, but nevertheless find this operation extremely dysfunctional and as put to me - suspicious.
I wasted another five minutes of everybody’s time this morning and Mr Front Office assistant manager I am beyond talking about his issue – I will not call you (or any other Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel Cape Town manager who requested a call- back after publication on Thursday afternoon), you may read this here were these incidents are published for all interested parties. I do not need a business card to call you - its a matter of operational inefficiency which is sadly to say happening every day I have been there on your watch / or maybe not. Business cards and requested call-backs does not fix operational inefficiencies - pro-active / efficient management practice should at al times be your business. Sadly it is not...
The bottom-line for me is the principle of being disenfranchised of the service / reasons I visit this Cape Town Waterfront hotel as often as I did over the last few months. Needless to say is that I will never drive my vehicle into your parking garage and will personally never visit the Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel Cape Town again.
Underground secure parking service / pay-point system at the Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel Cape Town not recommended.
